Each piece contains enough content and creative fuel to keep our attention zoned in while shards of electro, breaks, and technoid forms are exposed with jazzier outer layers.

Rugged, shuffled and broken rhythms splatter all across the proverbial landscape as Terror Peaks‘ EP for MOTR (a Slow Dance sub-label) is packed with sampled glitch, breaks, distant voices and all manner of organized chaos. The frenetic pace at which Terror Peaks (aka DJ Jude BH) juggles his sounds is described as “no two rhythmic parts (are) to be the same.” This idea is expressed via three impacted and visceral sonic shapes. Each piece contains enough content and creative fuel to keep our attention zoned in while shards of electro, breaks, and technoid forms are exposed with jazzier outer layers. The closing 18-minute piece—perhaps a symbiosis of the artists’ modus operandi—reveals distilled and improvised structures merging with the above-mentioned soundscapes and fractured sub-genres into a long-form musical articulation. Ultimately, this EP propels itself into uncharted experimental electronic terrain.

Terror Peaks is available on MOTR. [Bandcamp]
