What happens when you toss a match onto hundreds of energized electrical wires? Now place these wires into luke-warm water. What is the result? Are they motivated, displeased or just bursting with emotional juices? Apply to this the fact that certain techniques are always manipulated to create the sound of electronic music as described by the human condition. Music that is inspiring, music that lifts you to another plain, music that fosters pleasant thoughts guided by uplifting beats and floating melodies. This is the sound of Hamilton, Ontario’s Mike Savelli, whose peculiar experiments in sound-design are facilitated by his Tekniq moniker.

Sure, there are times on Compuglobalhypermeganet that inspire those nostalgic Delerium influences, but there are also several attractive glitches in the system. This glitch being a focused sonic experiment where crashing melodies are married to highly emotive rhythms. Beats fall from every which direction and somehow manage to describe beauty, laughter, and faded memories. The water isn’t so warm all the time, however, Tekniq’s musical spectrum shifts from inspirational electronics to the futuristic industrialized vibe of “Truss” –a significant highlight to an otherwise smooth full length debut on Stuttgart, Germany’s Fliesskoma imprint. It’s not so easy to describe, but from several listens, one can surely see that Mike Savelli is inspired by classically enriched grooves.

Highly melodic, emotional and layered with shiny rhythms, Compuglobalhypermeganet is an album of deep meaning, and one that is underscored with a nurturing electronic appeal. With this “Compu-Global-Hyper-Meganet” we’re pretty sure that Tekniq has described his sound quite well.
