A playful balance of Karsten Pflum and Penfold Plum (or shall we say Pflum’n’plum?) — crafty, upbeat and splattered with emotional piano solo’s next to drill’n bass.

Pauk

Pauk Reminiscent of early works from Neo Ouija’s roster including Kettel, Geiom and Metamatics intermixed with splinters of Squarepusher, Barcelona, Spain-based Pau Cabruja (aka Pauk) reveals classic late 90’s / early 00’s IDM-symphonies on his debut with n5MD digital affiliate Enpeg. A mixture of high-speed percussive outbursts driven by mid-tempo melodic breaks, Snails’n’dragons is a predominately high-energy flight through childhood memories — a playful balance of Karsten Pflum and Penfold Plum (or shall we say Pflum’n’plum?) — crafty, upbeat and splattered with emotional piano solo’s next to drill’n bass. While Pauk scrapes through the archives to dust off new directions in audio architecture, he keeps a firm balance between overtly saturated melodies and articulated beat layering.

Though Snails’n’dragons was sparked from Pauk’s memories of his Grandmother’s fairy-tales, every piece exposes expressive and colorful sound palette’s from start to close. These expansive bright spots are spread throughout eleven puzzle-pieces utilizing lightly peppered vocals weaved throughout to create a moving package of positive oscillations.

Now’s the time to delve into Pauk’s spectrum of digital flickers, broken beats, polished melodies and emotive sphere’s.

Snails’n’dragons is out on Enpeg. [Release page]
