A fabric of condensed cinematic melody, heavily textured beats and rhythmic digitized drones, Doomed Hope is both uplifting and brooding in one fell swoop.
I have to admit, I really should have been tuned into Logical Disorder (aka Javier Barrero) a long time ago. He’s been very active with an abundance of extended players and three albums to date, and now I’ll need to retrace his steps if Doomed Hope is indicative of past output. Dark, industrial, glitched-out ambient emotion from start to end is what you’ll find on this 5-track EP released on Berlin’s long-standing Crazy Language imprint.
There’s no shortage of ideas, as the 5-pieces flex their way into the subconscious with ease and control. Casting audible echoes from artists like Access To Arasaka, Huron, Tangent, Fennesz and early-era ambient/industrial Richard Devine, Logical Disorder delivers an impacting sonic punch causing ripples in a vast exp-electronic galaxy. Atmospheric noise brushed up against gritty digital clicks and sliced cuts, an ambient wash is spread over mechanized chaotic beauty. A fabric of condensed cinematic melody, heavily textured beats and rhythmic digitized drones, Doomed Hope is both uplifting and brooding in one fell swoop.
Doomed Hope is available on Crazy Language.
