Martin Haidinger (aka Gimmik) returns with classic bit-crunched electronic bliss on a couple of highly contagious and emotively charged tracks. Composing electronic music since 1992, we came to love all things Gimmik related when Haidinger founded Toytronic Records (not to mention Tonträger Tapes and the Hidden Reality project.) “Omicron Acid (Acid Mix)” blasts through with sweet acidic beauty and brightly polished IDM that only Gimmik can execute so well. “Omicron Acid (Silent Acid Mix)” traverses similar sonic terrain, albeit with a calmer Abfahrt Hinwil touch; distant echoes and a slow-motion stream of subconsciousness prevail with an emotional groove harkening back a couple decades.
