Sun Sea Sky expands its sonic base with three new releases. Melorman (aka Athens, Greece-based Antonis Haniotakis) continues to create vast sound escapes, drenched in surreal electronic horizons of the past yet firmly ensconced in the now on both Somewhere, Someday and Away. Fans of port-royal and classic Herrmann & Kleine will revel in Melorman’s use of downbeat, delicate, and developing aural vistas—gravitating towards fine-tuned calmness, drifting rhythms and subdued vocal strands. Blochemy (from Ostrava, Czech Republic), on the other hand, shifts into punchier emotive realms with Rame—a source of meandering melodic electronica—drawing parallels to early Andre Estermann, Aspen, Bauri, and Proem. Tethering a myriad of gentle polyrhythms brushed up against flowing low-end streams, Rame seamlessly encapsulates evolved ambient-electronic nostalgia.
