“The saturated fly-over footage of deserted landscapes brings to mind directors like John Carpenter and Stanley Kubrick, which contrast the more contemporary use of computer-generated imagery resulting in a music video which is inescapably out of time.”
[Press-release] This year is the 15th year anniversary of the Danish electronic composer Rumpistol as a releasing artist and there will be lots of things happening including a US tour, performances at festivals like Boom & Psy-Fi and a first time ever vinyl release of the debut album, which many people now consider a bit of an IDM classic.
Rumpistol’s new video for the track “Slower Drops,” taken from last years Drops EP, is a homage to the golden age of horror & sci-fi flicks, which fits the icy, dark and crystalline vibe of the track perfectly. The saturated fly-over footage of deserted landscapes brings to mind directors like John Carpenter and Stanley Kubrick, which contrast the more contemporary use of computer-generated imagery resulting in a music video which is inescapably out of time.
Drops is available on Rump.
