Instant Movie Combinations :: For the Travellers Sadly Walking in Ever Mist (Cold Graey)

Each is a drone exquisitely painted with a broad brush of many, slowly shifting colors.

Instant Movie Combinations have created three shimmering backgrounds For the Travellers Sadly Walking in Ever Mist, seven-minute long, rolling drones packaged in a fold-out sleeve illustrated like a short collection of Rudyard Kipling adventures. Flattening the entire folio, it becomes a map, simple and childlike with three X-es marking the spots. Each is mood all its own. “Moon, Sea and Shipwreck” striking out on the high seas with its sense of any time sailing over the edge of the world, “Jungle Book” (see, a Kipling adventure) coils in humid air and “Canoe” drifts toward the edge of a waterfall, the roaring turbines at its base growing ominously closer. Each is a drone exquisitely painted with a broad brush of many, slowly shifting colors.

A note on yellowing parchment stuck in between the flaps advises that tracks four and five, “The Master’s Pipe” and “Catalepsy #1,” respectively, are “not for use with main part.” Each is a tightly-wrapped and unforgiving twenty-minute monochrome drone, its abominable weight pressing you splendidly down.

Before departing Cold Graey country, also highly recommended is the superior gnarled and twisty dark ambient of Rituals by a band with no name, in a similarly nifty fold-out package.

For the Travellers Sadly Walking in Ever Mist is available on Cold Graey.
