The JDs :: The Texas Chain Store Manager (Pretension)

Drukman and Dangers work well together with hallmarks of each other’s work being present but melding in a way to create a nice new and funky sound. This full length is an eagerly awaited hot slab of sound for all fans of electronic music!

The JDs return to bleep, and bleep you hard!

Crate-diggers, samplers, freaks and funkheads! Lend me your third ears! The JDs are back! The JDs are none other than Jon Drukman (Bass Kittens) and Jack Dangers (Meat Beat Manifesto, Tino Corp to name a few). They’ve come to bleep you and bleep you hard. The Texas Chain Store Manager (due 02/22/20 at 2:22pm) is their second full length since 2010’s Education—and will be released on Pretension with pre-orders starting today.

Currently two tracks are up for preview including “Store Detective” (see our Newswire premiere video announcement here) begins as a tight and tidy glitch affair with a neat beat and soon evolves into a fat backbeat bleeping slammer showing clear signs of evolving in the Dangers Zone. “Diaper Astronaut” is a dubby affair with a solid beat and the aura of MBM in the air with sweet soaring chords and vocodered, doom-laden phrases. Drukman and Dangers work well together with hallmarks of each other’s work being present but melding in a way to create a nice new and funky sound. This full length is an eagerly awaited hot slab of sound for all fans of electronic music!

The Texas Chain Store Manager is available on Pretension (2/22/2020 at 2:22pm).
