V/A :: Electronic Manifesto IV. Epitaph. The End Chapter (M-Tronic)

(June 2010) M-Tronic have come a long way with their new (and final release for the Electronic Manifesto series) release Epitaph. The End Chapter is a brutal, poignant and cold-binding work of art. Heading off with the fantastic “La fin de Temps” by TAT (featuring Cypher & Pagan), our first track kick-starts this requiem of soul scraping sound with sorrow that I can only compare with an unstoppable train running in the night, striking on emotional levels out of reach of consciousness.

The release carries on, hitting year 2010 and beyond with the same state of mind to with a track called “Keystone” by Ab Ovo, evoking both despair and hope at the same time. Incredible. When M-Tronic asked Umilenie to compose their Epitaph, they took it seriously with their track “Tempus Fugit,” an epic electronic symphony. As the disc progresses it builds with electro aggression. The second to last track, “Less Than Zero” (featuring HIV+) by R3mute, reeks of power and drive, with a singing relentlessness to it.

In closing, it goes without question that M-Tronic have created nothing short of an enjoyably dark theme of electronic bliss from start to end. Epitaph indeed.

Epitaph is out now on M-Tronic featuring tracks by Stendeck, Geomatic, Flint Glass, Ex_Tension and several others. [Release page]
