Featuring some of their most innovative artists, Dark Room Beats equates to a fine collection of effervescent layers in which to indulge. An articulate reflection of exotic surfaces, which lead to sonic depths all tinted with a shining presence of trance culture.

Two of the best here include Robert Rich’s “Moth Wings” and Omnimotion & I Awake’s “Rebooting Daisy.” “Moth Wings” edges its way to the fore, with pulses that penetrate like strobes of bright light, gliding through its setting and edging towards a state of conscious awareness of its higher self. It shifts to something that’s rather Himalayan sounding, calling out to a wilderness of glowing pride. It lives and breathes its way through the atmosphere, swirling above the activity like an inquisitive wave of dance like ambience laden with sacred energies. Not so much dark, but bright with a hint of the oriental.

“Rebooting Daisy” has the density of an astronaut in space – floating aimlessly; its free & effortless placement of matter moving off the walls. Its rich, subdued crashes of beat and bass, invoking yet another oriental feel enhanced with a striking female vocal line. A slowed down vision of lifestyle and cityscape, witnessed from the protection of a soft bubble of brightened rays. The beat is weighted down, yet manages to move with the lightness and grace of a feather carried with a gentle breeze. The melody, shaped again by bass line and deeper textures, gives a darker edge, illuminated only by subtle metallic synth layers as the song draws on its final lap.

This collection is a sonic tribe of earthly beats that are structured and stretched to cover an exotic landscape, enhanced with subtle contrasts within this variety of work. The darkness reference is maintained with exotic highs and some lonely stretches that incorporate so much time and space – an innovative feature providing worldly flavor.

Don’t let time elapse; party and indulge with the lights out and with the bass and beats at an enhanced low-end frequency.
