Twiggy And The K-Mesons :: Technique (uvg212 / Daddy Tank)

Tethered to loose wires dangling from analog machinery, Technique is an unusual listening experience. Broken synthesizers, knobs and sliders cascade their audio interruptions in the form of well-oiled love stories.

We almost missed out on Technique—originally released on uvg212 (in association with Daddy Tank) mid-2011. Somehow the disc got shuffled in a stack of music unintentionally and was recently unearthed for a test drive. The result? A lucky find, indeed! Housed in a clear jewel-case and burnt onto a non-labeled two-sided black CDr with a credit-card style account info locked in the casing, Twiggy And The K-Mesons were an instant visual delight. What drips from the edges of this CDr is a mesh of robotic, vocodered and electro-tinged experimentation’s. Tethered to loose wires dangling from analog machinery, Technique is an unusual listening experience. Broken synthesizers, knobs and sliders cascade their audio interruptions in the form of well-oiled love stories. Ambient bits’n bytes and post-pop transmissions akin to an Adult. versus LFO production pours out of the speakers. Time to dig further into this curious and creative outfit of Michael Valentine West’s sonic pseudonym. Filled with positive experimental electronics bent around vocodered anthems and rhythmic contortions, Twiggy And The K-Mesons should definitely be earmarked.

Technique is available on uvg212 / Daddy Tank.
