Sphäre Sechs :: Particle Void (Cryo Chamber)

One absorbing, shimmering sound journey that mixes lysergic electronic spectral forms and noisy interferences.

Sphäre Sechs is an deep space ambient project built around analogue gears and which consists of Christian Stritzel and Martin Stürtzer (alias Phelios). I’m familiar with their previous opus Enceladus which was an immersive diving in soothing and menacing flexible drone ambiences, playing with timbres, micro variations and hypnotically structured tones. A clearly recommended one in the genre. After two releases published by Malignant Records this new album is signed by the unmissable dark ambient label Cryo Chamber (owned by Simon Heathen from Atrium Carceri). Particle Void follows explorations on mindscapes and infinite spaces, bringing to the fore subtle moves, glimmering sequences and blissed-out drone sections. This is one absorbing, shimmering sound journey that mixes lysergic electronic spectral forms and noisy interferences. A ravishing sonic world which gives a large space to tempered electro-acoustic qualities. We navigate somewhere between pure abstraction and emotionally textured story lines. Similar intersidereal soundscaping experience to Sabled Sun, Gustave Hildebrand, False Mirror, Tholen. Warmly recommended for those who dream and meditate on classy ambient odysseys.

Particle Void is available on Cryo Chamber.
