Qebrus :: ᐔ ᐌ ᐂ ᐍ ᐚ EP (Love Love)

Qebrus’ definitive arcane noises all seem to coalesce somehow. Next-level experimentation, chaotic as can be, this EP is the perfect soundtrack to an altered parallel universe.

Qebrus :: ᐔ ᐌ ᐂ ᐍ ᐚ EP (Love Love)

We’ve written about Qebrus in the past, but it’s always been a challenge. Yes, his music is a challenge—it defies convention, rips through an electronic mess and leaves the listener in bewilderment, unsure of what has happened. Aphex Twin recently dropped one his tracks at Day For Night (not surprisingly), blending the ricocheting analog data-processing to extreme effect.

But is it terrestrial? Is it digestible? Is Qebrus‘ audio-scribbling meant for casual listening? Probably not. The presumable wingdings fanatic offers unintelligible titles that veer in their own directions while erratic sound-streams baffle the ears. On ᐔ ᐌ ᐂ ᐍ ᐚ, Qebrus continues to bemuse—derailing abstract electrical bits and imploding them from every angle. One track after the other, shuffling metallic layers scrape the landscape, 90s-era videogame themes collide, and DSP flickering is in full view. Qebrus’ definitive arcane noises all seem to coalesce somehow. Next-level experimentation, chaotic as can be, this EP is the perfect soundtrack to an altered parallel universe.
