Pakun Jaran :: Sekt EP (Kaometry)

A multifaceted brainstorm of sweet electronic diffusion. The geometry of chaos, as the label puts it, is in full-effect with Sekt.

Pakun Jaran is new to these ears, but hopefully not for long. The France-based producer showcases on Kaometry with a 6-track EP titled Sekt. The title-track a plethora of soundtrack, bass-laden, and digital signal processing, there’s a foreboding rhythm that extends into the far reaches of machine-driven mayhem. The chemical composition of “IN-EO” details a chilled direction with vocals by Aya, a harmonious if not bleak foray into subtle clicks and magnetic low-end wobble. The alluring downtempo stream of “Ksati” is an organic instrumental—the gravity-inducing mirage is quite simply a hypnotic auditory beauty. The crisp electro/braindance of “Santi” is a cooling sonic slice, its synaptic beatwork is catchy in construct, yet it exhibits a strong ebb and flow—an unforgiving audio collage worth repeated plays. It all comes full-circle on the heavy punch of “Mukta,” its rugged industrial-electro, explosive breakcore, and bass exhibition is in top form. The 100-mph fury of “Hello” (featuring Daisy Mortem) is a drill’n bass manifesto—its Panacea-driven breakneck speed and eventual implosion of robust breaks is a definite highlight which leaves the listener wanting more. Sekt, in all, is a multifaceted brainstorm of sweet electronic diffusion. The geometry of chaos, as the label puts it, is in full-effect with Sekt.

Sekt is available on Kaometry.
