OVERWERK 'The Nth Degree'

[Facebook] OVERWERK is the solo project of electro producer Edmond Huszar, a former graphic designer from London, Ontario who is really starting to establish himself as a respected name on the EDM scene. Since summer 2010 the 22-year-old sensation has been hard at work pushing the boundaries of genres with his über stylish remixes and it is obvious that the young Canadian is a highly talented individual. Although still finding his feet in the industry, OVERWERK has put out remixes of Mord Fustang’s “Magic Trooper” and Wolfgang Gartner’s “Space Junk” that are arguably better than the originals, has collaborated with Andy’s iLL on a hard-hitting track that is capable of stopping hearts and has even experimented with the moombahton genre, which can be heard in his banging remix of Mac Graham’s “Midnight.”

Understandably, there has been much excitement at the news that the man from Ontario is about to start penetrating eardrums with his own original material. OVERWERK’s debut EP The Nth Degree is set to be released on the November 30th, 2011 as a no-charge release available on Paradigm Records.

The EP’s opening, and title, track is just incredible.  An epic intro followed by upbeat electro sounds and crunching, bass-heavy drops lets you know that you are in for one hell of a ride.  The Nth Degree is gapless and blends together like a watercolour in the rain so before you have time to relax the second track, “Alive,” is pumping through your speakers.  “Alive” is the highlight of the EP; it is a ridiculously good piece of electro-house that is absolutely perfect for a packed club.  The high voltage electronic beat and rich, atmospheric synths will send shivers down your spine before the astonishing drop and catchy glitch-hop sounds force you to move in an uncontrollable frenzy. “Odyssey” and “Buzzin’” both contain intense build-ups, distorted vocal samples, pulsating synths and filthy wobbles.  Between them, the two songs generate enough force to destroy the death star. “Paradigm” features the highly talented Toronto-based DJ/producer Nick Nikon and, in keeping with the rest of the EP, is an absolute monster.  The synth-laden track provides an overdose of ground-shaking bass and intricate electro sequences, resulting in wild, raging eargasms.  The final song on The Nth Degree is called “Contact” and attempts to restore order with a smooth and slightly-chilled intro before the track bursts into life with a dark and heavy electro drop.  What follows is not just trademark OVERWERK but a track in perfect keeping with the rest of the EP – a fist-pumping, jaw-clenching, electro-lover’s dream.

The Nth Degree is a no-charge release on Paradigm Records and available for download on OVERWERK’s Facebook fan page.
