One of the first releases from Neo Ouija comes from the label owner Lee Norris. For those unfamiliar with Metamatics, he had releases on the Clear label when it was still in existence, and is now putting releases out in a miriad of places. If you are already familiar with him, you will not be dissappointed with this release. He does progress with his sound, but does not stray far from where he left off. For any unfamiliar, Metamatics is nice because he uses a different sounds set then any other artists. His structures and timings seem similar, yet there is no DSP or clicking down percussion, just nice solid tunes. As for the sound set, the best I can relate it is that if most artists are using very technical/bleepy sounds, Lee Norris is using sounds that are more organic. This release also does equally well at home or in the DJ arsenal, and while it might not claim release of the week, it is a pleasant change and an enjoyable listen.
