LPF12 :: Rising Through Barricades (The Crime League)

Rising Through Barricades is a mysteriously evanescent, naturalistic and ethereal ambient album which gives a main importance to rhythmical experimentation, incorporating endlessly moving and majestically meditative guitar detached motifs.

LPF12 is the multifaceted spacey kinetic soundscaping project of Sascha Lemon from Berlin, Germany. This project has been extremely prolific and durably creative since the beginning of the 90s. After several recordings attempts on K7 format, Lemon is now offering his complete musical catalog as digital releases (signed on Crime League, Ionium, Abstrakt Reflections et al). From his recent 2013 production, if the opus Signals from the season of dust represents a comfortable sound odyssey through deep spacey pulsating electronic vibes and if ‘Sanctuary’ delivers physically ominous-cryptical dronescapes, Rising Through Barricades sounds like a mysterious installation when a variety of minimal textures interact with the expressive possibilities of synthesized flowing waves. The music delivered here embraces a smoothly intellectual-spiritual vibe that resonates inside us as a personal satori with obvious references to the mantra-like proportions of sound movements. The acoustic timbres and guitar notes amazingly reinforce the compositional musical schema based on a largely enveloping sound continuum. The buzzing raga-esque, noisy drone guitar patterns of “The Light of Day washes me away” are absolutely fascinating. This album admits a great and pleasant diversity, it can be as well appreciated as a significant introduction to LPF12’s musical macrocosm.

To sum up things Rising Through Barricades is a mysteriously evanescent, naturalistic and ethereal ambient album which gives a main importance to rhythmical experimentation, incorporating endlessly moving and majestically meditative guitar detached motifs. This album proves one more time that LPF12 is impeccably at ease in the various compartments of transversal electronic music. This last effort will ravish listeners of guitar ambient noises of Aidan Baker, those who meditate on the subtly moving and isolationist drone delight of Netherworld, Aeolian String Ensemble, The North Sea as well as those who are into the composite electronic textures of IDM.

Rising Through Barricades is available on The Crime League.
