[Release page] It would seem that not much could be expressed in three tracks spanning a total of roughly 18-minutes, but in fact Khafru (aka Abhi Malhotra) does more in these dense minutes of elongated time and space than most artists do in full-length releases. Breaking down barriers between emotive instrumental industrial and pleasant layers of magnetized fluctuation, glitch and ambient-noise, Mirrors Become Doors At Night is a refined audio jewel. An assortment of sparks and shadows of darkness fall upon tribal-infused chaotic beauty. “Industry Of Man” does just that—its undulating swarm of beats take over the landscape as morphing synths shed apart with hypnotized toxicity. The title track drifts by almost invisibly—a soundtrack to lost souls meandering into corridors of nothingness soon to be discovered by extraterrestrial lifeforms and transcended into a place of rebirth. “Mon Petit Fleur” sputters its industrial wash of scorched debris and buzz tones to eventually reveal an epic burrow of isolation and decay; gradual dreamscapes fade into and out of subdued audio-mulching to unearth a harmonious guitar patter among deep-sea caverns.

Falling somewhere between early Amon Tobin and The Future Sound Of London to current-era Ginormous, Khafru’s nigh-time traveling music continues to expel engaging moods with each listen.
