I/DEX :: Arc (Foundamental)

Though Arc may be worth your time and effort due to its epic close, I/DEX is able to transmit uniquely crafted experiments through a beautiful trajectory—akin to the early sounds of Oval, albeit in a more coherent structure—that allows each piece to transcend time and space.

I/DEX ‘Arc’

[Release page] I/DEX (aka Vitaly Harmash) creates a literal arc of sound sculptures on this seven track ambient passage. The opening few pieces slowly shift around a minuscule electronic sheen—drones and particle sifting aplomb. Evaporated melodies click away in the background as minute dusty textures tend to sparkle along the way. Lightly maneuvered snips and snaps of calm tonal activity keeps Arc on track, pushing forth a language composed of microscopic audio data that frolics in a sea of white noise. Seemingly tied to each other, “arc_06” displays a more organic picture of gently moving guitar flicks balanced against the minimal fluids of its sizzling counterparts. In its closing “arc_07,” I/DEX magically dips the mind into an atmospheric subconsciousness that elevates emotions from its inception. Taking you into its swirling buzz of floating clips and rhythmic digits, I/DEX certainly knows how to take the listener into uncharted worlds on this seven minute finale—a smorgasbord of delectable electrons rotating about in perfect harmony. Though Arc may be worth your time and effort due to its epic close, I/DEX is able to transmit uniquely crafted experiments through a beautiful trajectory—akin to the early sounds of Oval, albeit in a more coherent structure—that allows each piece to transcend time and space.
