Unland :: Die Ruhe nach dem Sturm (Midira)

The mysterious trio, Unland, returns with its second output: Die Ruhe nach dem Sturm (The Silence after the Storm). After releasing its alluring self-titled debut alone back in 2014, the trio puts its trust in the capable hands of Midira Records—a small label focusing on limited vinyl, CD and tape releases—to offer two versions of its new effort: 4-panel digisleeve in matt finish limited to 150 copies and a deluxe package that also includes the self-titled effort on CD for the first time (limited to 50 copies).

Consists of Jonas Meyer (piano/fx), Christian Grothe (guitar/fx/sampler) and Shabnam Parvaresh (clarinet), Unland is an experimental trio exploring the spaces between modern classical, dark ambient and improvised fluidity. Die Ruhe nach dem Sturm contains four minimalist yet powerful and turbulent compositions holding a spellbinding sense of an evocative dialogue between darkness and light. The flow is more assertive this time, and the use of structure and space is more effective. Deeply engaging throughout, Die Ruhe nach dem Sturm offers a journey by a group currently at its best creative form. Unland has developed a unique sound and this new effort demonstrates it in all its soulful atmospheric glory.

Die Ruhe nach dem Sturm is out in April 15 and now available for pre-ordering on Midira.
