In September 2016, The Caretaker was diagnosed with early onset dementia, beginning an inevitably finite journey into the realms of degenerative memory loss. This journey is set to be cataloged in six separate reports, a historic document of loss, progression and disintegration, with Stage One documented immediately.
Here we experience the first signs of memory loss.
This stage is most like a beautiful daydream.
The glory of old age and recollection.
The last of the great days.
Today sees the release of the Second Stage report.
The second stage is the self realization and awareness that something is wrong with a refusal to accept that.
More effort is made to remember so memories can be more long form with a little more deterioration in quality.
The overall personal mood is generally lower than the first stage and at a point before confusion starts setting in.
The full schedule is as follows:
- Stage 1——
- Stage 2——
- Stage 3——
September 2017 (with deluxe 3CD edition of the first three stages)
- Stage 4——
- Stage 5——
- Stage 6——
March 2019 (with deluxe 3CD edition of the final three stages)
These reports are available on vinyl (with very limited coloured vinyl runs also available if you’re quick) and as a super-budget priced digital edition. Deluxe 3CD editions are also planned, all via History Always Favours The Winners.
