MUTEK Montreal :: May 27-31, 2015

Since 2000, MUTEK has made Montreal, Canada, the site of a festival devoted to live presentation of the digital arts. Sound, music and audio-visual art are showcased by some of the most visionary artists in the field. With a diverse range of performers and participants, MUTEK makes a space every year for an international array of established and developing artists to show their work. This year, the 16th MUTEK festival will be no different. Some of the featured artists will be Andy Stott, Atom™, appearing with Robin Fox as Double Vision and Tobias; Adrian Sherwood & Pinch, Mika Vainio, and Richard Devine.

This year MUTEK is also featuring a number of female artists with some making their first appearance across the pond. From Holland, Steffi returns to reinvigorate sound and the gender-bending Rrose brings their live set to MUTEK’s stage. Dasha Rush will be presenting her “Antarctic Takt,” a multidisciplinary work of abstract ambiance in a journey to the earth’s southernmost reaches. London-transplant Karen Gwyer will bring her disquieting loop-based psychedelia and Mini & Nelly-Eve Rajotte present NIX, a presentation of audio visual works designed specifically for MUTEK.
