Day Before Us :: Nihil Interit (Rage in Eden)

Day Before Us is a French based project which originally blends textured electronics with a strong lyrical sensibility of somber beauty. The project was formed in 2011 by Philippe Blache. Titled Nihil Interit, this new album is the third published by Rage in Eden for this project who released five full length releases on various labels (Opn, Twilight Records). This effort plays the card of an alluring mystical dark romanticism for the conceptual background. It immerses the listener in majestic neoclassical dronescapes and invocative poetical ambiences. Each track develops its own atmosphere, sometimes mysteriously cinematic and underpinned by wistful melodies. This album features Philippe Blache on electronics, instruments and Natalya Romashina on vocals, lyrics. It is mastered by Giuseppe Verticchio (Nimh, Hall of Mirrors). A selection of “fragmented” memory-like photographs by Anne Stöckmann surround the music with a cold and introspective form of solemnity.

Nihil Interit is available on Rage in Eden.
